Intake Specialist

Community Legal Services

Orlando, Florida

Community Legal Services provides no-cost legal services to the most vulnerable in Central Florida, helping them protect their families, health, and livelihood.

Currently, I work as an Intake Specialist within the Helpline Unit. The Helpline is a brief legal services hotline that provides legal advice to clients over the phone. Additionally, my role assists triaging matters for other internal units that offer extensive legal services beyond brief advice. In 2023, Community Legal Services provided legal support for over 9,000 individuals in Central Florida.

After the February 2025 Florida Bar, I plan to return to my role at Community Legal Services and continue my passion of providing legal access to my community.

The Economic Justice (EJ) Clinic provides transactional legal services to underserved businesses, organizations, and individuals to support positive economic development. The EJ Clinic represents clients needing assistance with business formation, tax exemption, regulatory issues, contract drafting, and heirs’ property. The EJ Clinic also engages in public outreach, education, and advocacy to address ongoing issues of racial economic disparities.

Under the supervision of the Legal Clinic's Director, Economic Justice Clinic Fellows are assigned a variety of clients and educational projects. Here, I honed my skills in transactional legal work and enhanced community connections for the College of Law.

RISE Teaching Assistant: Evidence

Florida A&M University

College of Law Legal Clinic

Orlando, Florida

The Academic Success and Bar Preparation team offers the necessary support for students and alumni to maximize their performance in law school and on the bar examination.  The program provides resources to help students succeed in law school, pass the bar examination, and develop strong practice skills. The R.I.S.E. (Resources for Increasing Success on Exams) Program is one piece of this approach to increase the success of FAMU College of Law students.

As a teaching assistant for one section of Evidence, I organized structured, skill-building study sessions, held individual meetings with students, and provided a range of resources and programs to enhance students' comprehension and performance in evidence law. Through scheduled sessions and one-on-one support, I helped clarify complex topics, fostered analytical skill development, and promoted academic success within this foundational course.
